Darren Bruce Hillis was born on March 6, 1959. He was a tall boy, 6’2″ with reddish hair and hazel eyes. Shortly after his 14th birthday, on Monday morning, March 12, 1973, he left home on a brief walk to the bus stop on his way to Blair Junior High School in Norfolk, Virginia, as he had many times before. This time, however, his brother and sister were home sick and he was alone. He never showed up to school and was reported missing that afternoon. His younger brother, Dana Hillis, is still waiting for him to come home. Darren would be 63 years old this year.
